EMMA AUSFORD, M.A., B.SC.

Associate Director, Education & Outreach

Emma is passionate about creative science communication, which she brings to the role of Manager, Environmental Education and Interpretation at Fuse. With over 15 years of experience working at a variety of environmental education centres, Emma has a wealth of experience in connecting people to their natural world through fun, engaging, and innovative interpretation projects.

Emma has had a deep love of the outdoors since her many years spent at summer camp as a child. She chose to focus her career on making science and the environment more accessible and engaging for children and their families. Before joining Fuse, Emma coordinated the award-winning environmental education program at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden for over 10 years. Her work has been rooted in project coordination, program leadership, and unique interpretative design.

Emma has an M.A. in Environmental Education and Communication from Royal Roads University, a B.Sc. in Environmental and Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta, and an Advanced Certificate in Leadership with Honours from the University of Alberta.
